Peter Lannoo

I am a biology major (class of 2017) in the College of Arts and Sciences with a concentration in ecology and evolutionary biology, and am currently working on completing a Dyson Business Minor for the Life Sciences. I grew up around field biology, and I developed an interest in insects during the tropical field entomology course at the La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica (Entom 3340: Tropical Field Entomology). Now, using Python, Java, and other computer programming languages, I am working on developing a computational pipeline for the analysis of phylogenetic data sets using ultraconserved elements (UCEs). Outside the lab, I live a second life as a pitcher for the Cornell baseball team. I hope to work in the biotechnology business after graduating from Cornell.
