Steven Hoge

Undergraduate

I am a Freshman undergraduate here at Cornell studying Biology and Society and hoping to pursue an Entomology minor. On campus, I am involved in the Cornell Beekeeping club, which manages a few hives at Dilmun Hill Student Farm. I am from New Canaan, CT, where I have been raising honey bees for a few years. In my free time, I love to go hiking or skiing (depending on the weather), and I am taking advantage of all the beautiful scenery around Ithaca!

I am currently assisting with data entry and specimen management for the Empire State Native Pollinator Survey. I am also assisting PhD candidate Kass Urban-Mead with pollen counting and bee measurements to further examine the canopy forest bee community.

Research Interests

Conservation, pollinator health, landscape ecology, and Apis mellifera
